Reviews of our Umbrella Clothesline: 2017

Our electric dryer began malfunctioning so I started researching old fashioned clothes lines as a backup. After a lot of web searching I found BestDryingRack and ordered the 9 foot deluxe. Great product! The construction is very well done, unlike the cheap aluminum ones I looked at. The only slight negative so far is that the raising and lowering is pretty stiff and I have to struggle a little getting it up and down. It seems to be getting a little easier so it must be a "new" problem. Anyway, I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to others.

This clothesline was so much better than any others I have tried that I would have saved money by buying the wood deluxe one first. There is plenty of room for multiple load. The instillation was so easy I did it myself. (69 yr old grandmother)

I'd give 10 stars if given that option! The quality of the clothesline and the service that I received are outstanding. You can tell just looking at the clothesline how well-made and sturdy it is - what "Made in America" means. And I was so impressed when I emailed the company with a concern about installation. By 7 the next morning the owner had answered me, with suggestions about my concern. His suggestions were spot on and resolved my issue. I am really happy with the clothesline and proud to refer BestDryingRack to everyone I know.

My previous umbrella clothesline (another brand) was so dilapidated the lines drooped. That's when I started researching and found your company and product. I was impressed by the video showing a person putting the clothesline out for use and the ease in which she did it. My husband dug the small hole and put the anchor in place in a very short time. That had been a concern because we both suffer from severe arthritis. We had the line up and ready for use in no time. I love how the entire clothesline turns with the strong breezes we have here, and how each line is on a different level so the laundry gets equal sun and air. The best part after doing the laundry is being able to close the system and put a cover down over it--(I use a large, zippered cover from a previous patio umbrella) The purpose in covering it is to keep the lines clean and free of bird droppings, without having to take it inside. We are very pleased with this purchase--even my husband, who was skeptical at first, after our first clothes line was a disaster.

Very easy to install and use. Size is just right for hanging out king size sheets and I love the way it rotates for ease of hanging up clothes - no need to walk around - I can put my basket on the ground and then push to rotate to the next line.

I thought the assembly instructions weren't terribly well written, and I have no left brain skills at all, and I still managed to get it together and in its little hole in no time at all! I love the umbrella clothesline I got from BestDryingRack.com! It turns smoothly on its base, which makes hanging out the clothes quick and easy. My Mom had a similar clothesline back in the 1950's, and now I'm so happy to be drying my clothes out in the fresh air and sunshine too! I like the clothespins I got, too. They're a little pricier than store-bought. But they're nice and sturdy, and I feel good buying things made by craftsmen in the U.S.A.

Shipping was quick. Ordered the large drying rack and it arrived as was advertised. It is very well built. Also ordered clothes pins and the packaging was damaged in transit and returned to the sender. They called me and apologized and sent new clothes pins out right away. Can't ask for better customer service. It's nice to deal with a US company and US made products. Would definitely buy again.

The Drying Rack came three days sooner (on Saturday) than it was expected and I hurried to get in in the ground as I had started a load of laundry. Hanging clothes on it was fun since it replaced two floor drying racks and a static clothes line. I'm pleased with its construction, choice of materials, and ease of use; in installing it, setting it up, and hanging clothes. I've purchased the large umbrella clothes line and I love it! Fast shipping! I especially like that it installs super easy, and is removable for mowing the lawn. I wanted a small clothesline and found you. Perfect size for a two-petson home. Only comment would be is that I would prefer it be a couple feet highertime.when I need to use the inside lines. Will work on that. Very well constructed. Put up in area where it is protected from our strong winds so I plan on it lasting for quite some time.

Sturdiest drying rack I've ever known. It can hold my two Japanese futon mattresses for airing and sunning, even on windy days. Also, plenty of room for drying a load of clothes. One thing is the stabilizer rod is not centered which looks odd but does a great job of holding everything together.

My wife and I bought the outdoor clothes lines from the chain hardware stores and found that the plastic fittings would break after just a few months, making them useless and just about impossible to repair. You get what you pay for. So we're more than happy to pay for this high quality drying line for the ease of setting up, ability to adjust/repair, drying area, & its being American- made. Worth the extra dollars. This clothesline is pricey compared to similar models that you can purchase at Amazon, Home Depot or Lowes, however, it is worth the price difference. It is well constructed, made with quality stainless steel, as opposed to aluminum, nuts & bolts, not rivets, made in the USA, high quality nylon rope, not vinyl covered wire. It was easy to anchor with the ground socket, without cement, and is sturdy. I absolutely love this clothesline and highly recommend it.

Wonderful product. I'd been asking husband to put up clothesline for awhile but he didn't want lines across the yard. The large umbrella type line is perfect. We close it when not in use and it's easy to mow because we can go around it or just remove it and put the cap on the ground hole. There are just two of us but I do laundry once or twice a week so there is plenty of room for sheets and bedding. Very sturdy unit compared to some I've seen for sale in a local store. Appreciate it's made in America. In hindsight I wish I had placed a five gallon bucket with concrete in ground when installing as it does shift slightly when wind blows hard. Thinking about using it in our attached garage this winter using the five gallon bucket with concrete. My husband was a skeptic but my dryer has had the summer off. Yes we still air fluff some clothes for five minutes after taking them off the line to remove dog hair but a five minute air cycle is a small price to pay versus 55 minutes in a heated dryer. So glad I found your site. I've told several neighbors.

This drying rack stood out when I was comparing drying racks online; so many other cheaper racks had reviews talking about them breaking or wearing down so quickly, I wanted to invest in one that would last. We've had ours for a couple of months now, and so far so good. The delivery was on time, the setup was simple (no cement necessary), and it has been holding up well. The smallest string on the innermost level has just become a little loose, but I think we have instructions on how to tighten it when the time comes. Sun-drying your laundry does leave the towels a little rough, but I haven't noticed with anything else. Overall, I am glad I bought a BestDryingRack.

I have been wanting a clothes line for years (because I love the smell of dried sheets from outside) and spent a lot of time searching for exactly what I was looking for. I could not be happier with this product! Even my husband (who kind of scoffed at the idea) hangs up clothes outside now. A lot of my shirts I just put on a hanger and then put them on the line (with clothes pins on either side to hold it in place) This isn't anything like the ones you buy in the store. I told my husband all he needed was a shovel to put it up and he said "no way" (he thought he would need quick crete and he was wrong!) He put it up in 10 minutes. And I can take it down in the fall quickly so I don't leave it out in the snow all winter. Whoever designed this was a genius! Thank you so much for such a great product!

The quality of the umbrella rack is exceptional. That was the main selling point for me. It's time to buy things that can be repaired. There are too many landfills with cheap disposible "stuff". Now about the cloths rack: easy to install. Make sure you pack the base. Capacity: generous. So far I've done 4 loads of clothing, 1 queen size blanket and had about 1/3 open space. Convenience: I like the ability to remove when not in use. Easy install/dismantle. Note: I am female 5'5" and can handle setting it up by myself. But I can see how a person with a more petite frame could require an extra pair of hands.

I found your company through an internet search. I read the reviews that I found and decided I would give it a try. Ordering was easy. The package arrived a few days later (I was surprised UPS ground took as long as it did). It took about ten minutes to set the thing up and I have to say it is the best clothes line/outside dryer we've ever had. It handles all of the laundry you claimed it would and doesn't falter with the weight. I WILL buy another when I need to. It would be nice if there were a greater variety of colors! (lol) I also love the fact that it is USA made. Nothing better than jobs for Americans! In All seriousness , this is a quality item and it is worth the price. (I bought the big one)

Outdoor clothes drying is very important to us. We recently moved to a 55+ community where umbrella clotheslines are the only type allowed. Most communities don't allow any type of outdoor clotheslines, so we considered this a plus for our unique tastes. The unit fits perfectly in the small area we have. It was very easy to install (a neighbor who is in the early stages of dementia almost believed me when I told him I was digging a hole to bury my money). It blends right in and is barely noticeable. My wife loves it and she has already thanked me many times for it. Our clothes now have that fresh air smell and our whites will stop turning to grey, and out our bedding and clothing won't be wearing out in the dryer. Thank you for a great product. Many others are available at lower cost, but those manufacturers know what their stuff is worth.

5 stars! I had to use my drying rack a couple times before I wrote a review. Installation is so easy anyone can do it,, if you can dig a hole. I bought the smaller one as it's just the 2 of us at home now, but wish I had gotten the bigger. The rack is easy to remove to be able to mow the lawn, with a handy cap to prevent debris from filling the hole. Excellent product! Thank you!!

I moved to Wisconsin from Cedar Falls, Iowa. So when I found this company was based in Parkersburg, IA I checked them out very closely. After reading the reviews I decided to order the smallest clothesline and I love it. So pleased as a petite woman that I can put up the umbrella clothesline by myself and take it down. I live in a windy location. The deluxe model clothesline I purchased is a substantial product. It was easy to install and is the most substantial removable clothesline I have ever purchased. I also bought the canvas storage cover and that is also very well made. The line turns in the wind and unlike many cheaper model clotheslines of this style, the line spacing is far enough apart that the clothes dry much more quickly. I like being able to raise the height of the lines, too. All hardware is substantial. I have already had two friends inquire as to where I purchased "such a substantial clothesline." The fact that this product is American-made and worth the money is worth the money is important to me. Finally, the fact that parts can be replaced on the clothesline in environmentally kind. Would highly recommend this line and this company.

I remember my parents having this same brand of umbrella clothesline when I was a kid ( in the 1960's). Their 's was great, lasted a long time. I was so thrilled to find this same product 50 years later later. I bought the larger one. I can dry my king size sheets on it without them dragging the ground. I had purchased a small metal and plastic clothesline 2 years ago thinking I would save money. Mistake!!! It snapped in a wind storm. This clothesline is so much more sturdy. You really can get 5 loads of laundry on it. Have always loved drying my clothes on the line. Not only do they smell great, and save money on my electric bill, but the sun brightens my whites. By the way did you known that 5 hours of sun will kill many types of bacteria? Even tuberculosis! The quality of this product is top notch. Heavy duty, well constructed and easy to install. We dug the hole with an auger, and put in 2 bags of quick set concrete. It's very solid. Very pleased with my new clothesline.

I was glad to finally find a line drying system that would work for us in our subdivision. Installation was straightforward and we started using it immediately. I'm in love with my umbrella drying rack! We don't have enough room for a traditional clothes line so the umbrella style is perfect. I can do much more laundry because of the rack. Extremely well made. Replaced a clothesline that fell apart due to the failure of the plastic parts. No problem with my new one as there are none! The locking mechanism really secures the position of the arms. Great things are still made in the USA. I may have to buy another solar powered clothes dryer for the front yard to show it off!

Open rack suffered no problems with winter winds that toppled trees in our area. This was my major concern.

This rack will be going to Haiti where I have been going for over 10 years with Missions International of America, a medical mission group from Perrysburg, Ohio. We are always trying to hang up a simple clothesline to dry our laundry which inevitably is to small or sags greatly. My wife and I bought your product about 3 to 4 years ago and simply love it's convenience. So, we have decided to donate one of your drying racks to the mission. Hopefully, it will get there and be in use by the end of this year.
