These heavy-duty clothes pegs are:

Clothes Pegs are different from clothespins. Clothes Pegs use the flexibility of their material to grip the laundry. While clothespins rely on a metal spring for gripping force.
They also differ in the way they are installed and removed. Pegs are simply pushed onto fabric that is folded over the clothesline, then later pulled off. Pins have to be squeezed to open the jaws for both installation and removal.

No. The edges and corners are all smooth to prevent tearing. And the special plastic material will not discolor or collect mold if stored indoors when not in use.
