Greg is the founder and owner of BestDryingRack. He is an experienced engineer, gardener, and handyman. Over the years he has remodeled, fixed, and installed every home system from French Drains down below the yard to metal roofing up above the house.
He is also the owner of EasyDigging.com which sells high-quality garden tools. Greg has practiced a variety of gardening methods.
Introduction
Greg Baka is an engineer, designer, online merchant, gardener, and all-around handy guy in Columbia, MO. He and his wife run the business, help friends with their garden and home projects, and enjoy time with their grandkids.
My Accomplishments
Creating efficient tools that last is not an easy task, whether they are for drying clothes or gardening. My training and experiences have had a big impact on both BestDryingRack and EasyDigging.
I went to Purdue University and earned a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. (see "What is IE?" ) They taught us how to manufacture almost everything, as well as ergonomics which is improving the design of products to optimize them for human use.
When I started working I did industrial engineering for the first 8 years, first building small electric motors, and then RV awnings. Then I switched to product design for the next 9 years where I first designed RV awnings, and was awarded a number of patents for my work. Then I moved to a company called "The McMillen Division" to design construction equipment used with skidsteers, like the Bobcat. I really enjoyed this job, and learned to operate a lot of excavating machines. It was there that I learned a lot about digging tools and trenching. I even designed two private-label trencher attachments, one for Toro and one for John Deere.
My next venture was starting EasyDigging in 2007, followed in 2009 by BestDryingRack. We have added more products, grown our reputation, and made our customers happy for 19 years now!
